(Please: The definitions I've used for these energies are mere sketches. It is impossible to write down every possible meaning for any of these, even if time and space permitted. These are infinities, what Geoffrey Filbert called "exponentials", and cannot be fully manifested in the universe either in one's mind [inside] or in words [outside]. So if what I say doesn't agree with your favorite definition, no problem. Most likely we're both correct as far as we go. They appear to be creative forces. They appear to be energies. They appear to be templates upon which reality is formed. They appear to be the names of God. What they are, is inexpressible in human language. So pardon me if I fail to do more than pencil them in for you.)

Beyond all possible manifestation is the origin of everything. This
has a lot of names, none of which are of any use whatsoever, especially
the ones which are personifications into various names of God. A rather
less objectionable name is "universal mind" except that it is not a mind
and is beyond universes! One of the non-deified names is "tao". Tao is
sometimes viewed as the unity, which isn't entirely accurate. To say that
it is One is not true. To say that it is Nothing is also not true. It is
neither one nor zero because to pick either would imply the opposite.
Tao split into duality:

Duality is also known as yin/yang. My best look is that this is what Buddha called "dukkha" (I realize saying that may well scandalize some Buddhists, but calling dukkha "suffering" is an error tantamount to a rather sick joke, seeing as "life is suffering" is a rather common service facsimile!). Duality is a matter of taking all subsequent creation and instantly dividing it into pairs of opposites. It is separation, division. As such it constitutes the deepest level in a person's case. When unified in processing and/or meditation duality resolves into Tao again temporarily, then proceeds to degenerate once again. The one on the left is the ultimate root of existence; and the one on the right is the highest root of non-existence. Duality is "create" because it is how creation is accomplished. Anything created must be a part of self which is then split away from self. In this case I do not mean the individual self, but rather the universal one.
Duality split into the level of four:

The Level of Four form a foundation senior even to living spirits. They are in pairs.

1 and 0
This is existence on the left, as polarized against non-existence on
the right. This pair is also known as Heaven/Earth, but that can be confusing
because earth occurs as an element in the I-Ching as described by the Chinese.
They can also be taken to mean matter and spirit. As such, matter/spirit
when unified equals Absolute Separation.
1 infinity/zero
= good to have everything (blazing white light of all)
0 nothingness/all bad
= good to be nothing (dark night of the soul)
These two equal duality itself, the poles between which lie everything.
This is echoed into every level below. These are duality itself. Together,
they are dukkha.
These in turn can become polarized directly on one of the lower levels.
Existence:
(positive) Everything is good or wonderful
/ the universe is god
(negative) Overwhelm, fleeing it all
into nothingness
Non-existence:
(positive) Empty calm
(negative) Emptiness recoiling from
everything
Existence and non-existence are almost too much to write about. Every time an attempt is made to describe one of them, the other appears too.
The next pair are:

This was caused by a decision. The decision was simply the idea
that a creation could be attached to another creation, thereby altering
it and giving it a new "flavor". The decision created time in which a motion
from one pole to another could be extended, making a gradual approach to
whichever was chosen as "goal". One of these is spirit decaying or degenerating
down into matter, and as such appears to create what Buddha called "desire"
or "thirst", which flows down the CDEI scale. The other is matter moving
upward into spirit, and as such seems to be the evolution of matter into
aware organisms. As these are the initial graduated scales, the decision
of attachment of creations to one another is the source of all scales,
all processes which occur over time, and all "triangles" such as be-do-have.
Another perspective:
10 destroy or disrupt
to enable/too orderly = destroy is goal
01 truth/lies (missing
truth) = creations are goal
These two equal the order and chaos of creation and destruction. Creation/Destruction
here are again a fractal echo of dukkha, here in combination. Creation
and destruction go all the way to the top, to duality, for duality seems
to be the first creation.
Another, rather astonishing realization was that degeneration equaled CREATION as a process (a process, not raw, pure creation); and that evolution equaled DESTRUCTION as a process. Naturally while these are the main flows, there is a less obvious backflow of destruction beneath the creation and vice versa.
This odd feature of this pair is that while matter evolves upward toward spirit, it yet deteriorates physically over time. And the decay of spirit in the other one is characterized by gains in experience, in "mind", through time. This gives me the impression that despite the obvious flows in each, they yet contain less apparent reversals of goal too.
My friend Rita spotted this same pattern in 1994 while studying mathematics, and one night in September 2001 drew it out like this for me:
I recognized it instantly as a different way to depict the level of
four. The top figure was the way she first drew it for me, but she drew
some double plusses and minuses off to one side and on closer questioning
she acknowledged that it was more accurately represented by the lower figure.
Imagine my astonishment when I recognized her ++ as my 11, her -- as my
00, and her +- and -+ as my 10 and 01!
I had also drawn a graphic figure to show this:
The top figure is duality/dukkha.
The middle figure shows flow occurring between the two halves of dukkha,
between existence (1) and non-existence (0).
The lower figure sets the middle figure on end and indicates that two
triangles form between the poles of existence and non-existence.
The lefthand triangle is of matter evolving upward into spirit.
The righthand triangle is of spirit degenerating into matter.
This indicates that the level of four consists of the two terminals of existence and non-existence, plus the two processes of change between them, one in each direction.

I thought at first that the creations at this level would be the trigrams
of the I Ching. I no longer think so. Partially I was fooled by the fact
that the trigrams are bounded on both ends by pure existence and non-existence.
This is simply an indication that all reality exists between the poles
of duality. I tried very hard for weeks to reconcile the chinese system
with what I knew to be true. I failed. I am now of the opinion that the
trigrams are too far removed from the actual basis of reality, or badly
misinterpreted to be used.
The major primal goals comes next in the series of creation. The primal goals occur in pairs which are the polarizations of the six forces. These six and their split into pairs are the true level instead of the Chinese trigrams.
0110 empty/filled
= density of spaces
1001 large/small
= size of spaces
These two equal Space.
1100 stop/flow = energy
motions
0011 image/blank =
energy fields (binah?)
These two equal Wave Energies such as images and flows of feelings.
1000 everyone (others)/only
I (self) = beings
0001 know (perception)/not
know (non-perception) = awareness
These two equal Consciousnesses.
1110 good anchors for leverage
(strength)/unable to hold (defeat) = anchor points
0111 change of viewpoint/fixed
ideas = viewpoints
These two equal Points in physical/mental spaces. Notice that anchors
manifests as useful tools, and viewpoints as useful knowledge.
0100 life/death = survival
of bodies or lifeforms
0010 oppressor/victim
= survival of spirits
These two equal ìSurvivalî as created living existences. A spirit is
as much a creation as a tree.
1011 affinity/disaffinity
= emotions
1101 attachment-clinging/freedom
= engagements
These two equal Distance, whic manifests as emotion and attachments
as contrary vectors.
The combination of these six, plus the two poles of duality, plus the
two processes between the poles of duality, seem to give us extremely powerful,
highly charged goals in the mind which can be worked in order to achieve

A closer examination shows that each of the above primal goals can polarize into extremes, each of which can become a goal in itself. This gives us a set of 24 more.
Pursuit of any one of these goals without pursuing its opposing goal seems to lead to trouble for a person. They want one thing, but by wanting it they are invoking the whole goal above, and they get the whole goal, including the opposing goal! So someone who pursues love often finds plenty of hate. Someone who pursues death (such as a surgeon, but of course usually not consciously) will often save lives.
The full integration of any individual comes via resolving and dissolving any such conflicts between goals. Therefore it is useful to know which goals derive from which. Here they are in abstracted form. This is only a sketch.

Like I said above, these are only abstracts, mere sketches done from my personal point of view. A little study and meditation on the nature of the extremes of polarization as they manifest in our minds should plump out these bare bones nicely for a dedicated student.
